SYP Quality Assurance

It is the responsibility of institutions participating in Senior Year Plus (SYP) to ensure the quality of courses and compliance with the appropriate requirements of Iowa law. For both secondary and postsecondary courses, a variety of external accountability mechanisms exist to ensure that Senior Year Plus standards are met.  The Department utilizes the National Alliance of Concurrent Enrollment Partnerships (NACEP) accreditation process to ensure compliance with many state statutory requirements for the Concurrent Enrollment Program, also known as district-to-community college sharing (281 IAC 22.11). All 15 of the State of Iowa Community Colleges are NACEP accredited.
