Requirements - First Issuance
Master’s degree in a BoEE endorsement area, position offer, and after a diligent search, the district shows that no properly endorsed applicants were available.
Term
3 years for the initial authorization, then 5 years
Authority
Limited to the endorsement listed on the authorization. Not eligible for conditional licensure. Not eligible to add any other endorsement areas.
Extension
Yes - if more time is needed to complete coursework requirements.
Conversion
Apply for the regular content specialist authorization upon completion of the required coursework.
Renewal
The regular content specialist authorization will require 6 renewal credits and the mandatory reporter training for child and dependent adult abuse.
OR
Verification of a Master's degree or higher, at least 10 years of PK-12 licensed experience, and the mandatory reporter training for child and dependent adult abuse. Substitute experience may count as years of experience if an individual is able to verify at least 91 days of substitute experience per year of experience.
