Public school districts, nonpublic schools, area education agencies and public libraries are eligible to apply for funding under the Universal Service Administrative Company (USAC) "E-Rate" Program. E-Rate provides discounts on telecommunications services (such as data circuits and Internet) and internal connections (such as routers and switches).

Funding Year 2026

E-Rate Form 470 Webinars

The E-Rate Form 470 webinars for Iowa districts and schools have been scheduled.  Information presented in each webinar will focus on both Category 1 and Category 2 requests, as well as a reminder to update each school’s enrollment and National School Lunch Program figures.  This update is required each year.

The E-Rate program is starting a new five-year Category 2 budget cycle.  The webinar will show how to view your “forecast” Category 2 budget, as well as emphasize the importance of filing for at least some Category 2 items for funding year 2026 in order to lock in your Category 2 budget.

Sessions are repeats. Select one. No advance registration needed.

For those unable to participate in either session, a recording will be available by emailing Pam Jacobs at pam.jacobs@iowa.gov after Nov. 12.
