Requirements - First Issuance

1. Completion of the approved training and one year of SAM experience including verified competencies
2. Mandatory reporter training for child abuse.

Renewals

3 semester hours of credit through authorized SAM training or online training courses approved by the BoEE/DE. Mandatory reporter training for child abuse is required.

OR

Verification of a Master's degree or higher, at least 10 years of PK-12 licensed experience, and the mandatory reporter training for child abuse. Substitute experience may count as years of experience if an individual is able to verify at least 91 days of substitute experience per year of experience.

Extension

Yes - if more time is needed to complete renewal requirements.
