Teacher Pipeline Dashboard

Data on teacher vacancies by district and content area. The data includes vacant positions, teachers employed and vacancy rate during the 2022-23, 2023-24 and 2024-25 academic years.

The Teacher Pipeline Dashboard presents the number of vacant teaching positions divided by the number of teachers employed within a particular content area. The default view presents all K-12 teachers statewide teaching all content areas in academic year 2024-25 in the map, table and line chart.
 

Users can focus on specific categories of teachers, teaching content areas, districts and academic years by making or updating selections in the drop-down boxes. The map, table and line chart update automatically as selections change. Users can also select a school district or multiple districts by clicking and dragging the selection on the map, and can sort the table by any column.
 

The data for a specified year reflects the teachers employed in the fall of that year and the vacant positions unable to be filled prior to the start of the following school year. As an example, 2024-25 reflects teachers employed in fall 2024 and vacant positions unable to be filled in the period between August 2024 to August 2025.
 

Some teachers work in multiple categories (for example, an elementary school teacher who also teaches special education) or multiple content areas (for example, a teacher who instructs both health and physical education classes).
 

In these situations, the teacher would be included in both an elementary school and special education teacher categories, and in both the health and physical education content areas, but would only be counted once in the Total K-12 Teachers and the All Areas categories. As a result, the totals do not match the sums of the various categories.
 

Note: 

The teacher vacancy rate in this report is calculated differently than the percentages reported on the Teacher Shortage Areas webpage. The Teacher Shortage Areas data focus on unfilled full-time positions as a percentage of all full-time positions in the state in a given year.
 

The Teacher Pipeline Dashboard focuses on supply and demand within teaching content areas: specifically, it presents the number of unfilled positions within a content area divided by the number of teachers employed within that content area in a given year.
