Access to quality work-based learning projects in your area just got easier! The Iowa Clearinghouse for Work-based Learning now offers project boards filtered specifically by local districts.

The Iowa Clearinghouse for Work-based Learning connects classrooms and employers through shared virtual projects that provide students with hands-on, professional experiences.

Through the new district project boards, business and community partners can now post authentic work-based learning projects specific to their location and needs. The district project boards also provide convenience to work-based learning coordinators and educators who are looking to streamline and find quality experiences for their students.

“The clearinghouse is a great place to find real-world work-based learning projects,” said Kristy Volesky, work-based learning consultant for the Iowa Department of Education. “The new district project boards will help connect students and employers more easily and will create more authentic project opportunities within Iowa communities.”

Currently, 48 school districts have a dedicated district project board on the clearinghouse site, and more boards will be included as district interest arises.

“Check out the district boards and see what types of projects are available for students,” said Laura Williams, project manager for the Iowa Clearinghouse for Work-based Learning. “You’ll find great examples of amazing authentic projects that are engaging students to enhance their skills and develop their career passions and interest areas.”
