Science educators will want to register [link removed] for one of three regional professional development opportunities that will be held in the fall.

The professional development opportunities, sponsored by the Iowa Department of Education in partnership with the Iowa Department of Natural Resources and hosting institutions, are designed for teachers, coaches, administrators and preservice higher education faculty and students.

The sessions are being developed by the Department, area teachers and science consultants from the Area Education Agencies and the DNR.

The daylong sessions will be on:

  • Sept. 25 at the University of Iowa
  • Oct. 3 at Iowa State University
  • Oct. 19 at Buena Vista University

The geographic diversity of the sessions was deliberate in hopes that at least one teacher from each district in the state can attend.

Registration for the events is free and lunch will be provided by the Iowa DNR and Iowa Space Grant Consortium.
