Registration [link removed] is under way for this month’s Adult Education and Literacy Summer Conference.

Sponsored by the Iowa Department of Education and the Iowa Literacy Council, the conference will be held June 28-30 at the FFA Enrichment Center in Ankeny.

Keynote speakers are Ahmed Agyerman, director of the Evelyn K. Davis Center, Des Moines Area Community College (DMACC) ; Lisa Even, coach and “joy connoisseur,” and Michelle McNertney, division administrator, Workforce Services, Iowa Workforce Development.

In addition, the conference will include visits with Rob Denson, president, DMACC; Beth Townsend, director, Iowa Workforce Development; Mark Vineis, president and CEO of ProLiteracy; and Juan Garcia, president, Iowa Literary Council.

The sessions will revolve around the conference’s theme, Collaboration, Inspiration and Education.

The conference is for educators and administrators of adult education and literacy programs. Registration costs are $200 ($150 for Iowa Literacy Council members).
