Grants designed to begin or expand programs that increase access to locally grown food and education are now available for child-care and preschool programs.
The grants are available through the Iowa Farm to School and Early Care Coalition, which brings together a group of farm to school and early care stakeholders. It works to build cross-sector partnerships to advance programs and policies in schools, early care settings and the food system.
Three grant applications – ranging from $500 to $2,000 for gardens, family engagement and local food procurement – will be open continuously for 18 months, or until all funds are awarded, from now through June 2024.
